Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

I'm extremely interested in cooperative crafting as a guild. It'll give us all access to better gear earlier on and make leveling so much easier and way more fun!

During beta I was Synthweaving/Archy/Bioanalysis. I liked crafting armor and frequently had my companion out gathering mats while I was in town.

In WoW I was a pretty hardcore crafter with max Alch (very completionist with my recipes), A max Tailor (tons of patterns) and a max BS (Lots of patterns there too)

So I do enjoy crafting quite a bit. Having people to craft for makes it even better.

It's at the least more informative than all I found trolling the boards looking myself. :) thanks!

Now I have to pick a last name that won't annoy me on all my toons... or that works best with Memory and feck the rest. lol

I'm personally going Artifice, Archaeology, Treasure Hunting on at least one character (always the "professor" archetype), though I need to learn more about other skills.

Also, will there be a commission type system or will everything go on the broker if choose to sell it?

Great question. I'm actually chatting about the specifics with the other officers at our next meeting. If you have recommendations, this is a great place to post them. No guarantees about final implementation, but we're definitely interested in feedback.

I think the setup and intentions used in STO could very easily be adapted to SWTOR. Isn't helping each other why we're a part of an awesome group? I even think we'll have a STWOR store to sell items to non-guild people once things get settled and organized.

This is definitely the starting point in our planning. We'd like more feedback, and we recognize that we may need to experiment a bit after launch to figure out what makes sense.

I would be very interested in assisting in this effort. Applied economics? Sign me up!
If there was more information on how we will create this store/commission system I would love to hear more and administrate if given the opportunity.
Some questions I have on these systems:

  • Will the commission/store systems be integrated?
  • If so, how?
  • If not, is this desirable to the group/feasible? (The latter will heavily depend on the dynamics of the game/guild bank dynamics)
  • How will the store be implemented? Everyone contributes X and receives F(x) [with F(x) being a function based on input/profit gained
  • Will participation be mandatory?
  • Will individual inputs/outputs be equal?
  • Will the "profits" go to the guild or to the guild members?

I know this is quite lengthy and possibly completely off-topic, but the quote text caught my eye.

There will definitely be events scheduled at convenient times for east coasters as well as events timed for EU and west coast folks. With the numbers that we're seeing, we shouldn't have any trouble maintaining events for all 3 of those zones. And if you're not seeing enough events for your time zone, be sure to hassle DakonKor (Republic) or Zepari (Empire). /ducks

Yes please harass my husband DakonKor!!! He has nothing to take up all his time now that the wedding is behind us! I know that I'll be making myself available for teaming up anytime I'm in the game with the hopes of getting involved in the operations/raiding (if not at a hardcore level, at least enough to know what's going on)

For example, I'd love to have the name "Angel" and take the legacy name "Silhouette" :3 If 5 people from Stonewall were able to get on in the first 2 days, tried it and one of them got it, I'd be ecstatic. ^.^

I'll certainly give it a try Angel. My biggest pet peeve with SWTOR is BioWare archaic (practically perhistoric) naming rules which means names like "Angel" will be gone in a heart beat, and proper names like "Dakon Kor" are impossible. *mutters*

Oh well, I can take solace in the fact that I was surprisingly intrigued by the the Imperial Agent's storyline (I refuse to roll a Republic character during beta so none of the story is spoiled) and will definitely roll one as an alt. Far more interesting and nuanced than the Inquisitor's story, in my humble opinion. But now I'm getting off topic. Just trying to end on a happy note. ;-)

I'm an "east coaster" here (NY), so if stuff is scheduled around a "west coaster's" schedule then I won't be able to raid. Though someone said that we (due to many easterners) will have East Coast-timed events. Latency cross-America isn't normally a problem for me; my internet is the same level of crappy all the time lol

Did anyone see the prices of the starwars stuff from razer? can we say ridiculous?

mouse 139.99
gaming headset 129.99
mouse pad 49.99
keyboard 249.99

so 569.96 bucks not including tax and shipping and handling...I mean really? Is it going to make the game that much more enjoyable?

Holy cow! No I won't be getting those. I do want to eventually upgrade my mouse and keyboard but need to do a wee bit more research.

Re: What role (tank/heal/dps) you gonna play in TOR?

December 01 2011
I'm still not sure what class to play at start since I had so much fun playing all the classes.

I think I'm leaning towards>>>

Trooper/Commando
Smuggler/Scoundral
Jedi Knight/Guardian
Counselor/Sage

No specific order and no I've not made up my mind yet.

I do know if I pick Jedi Knight I will head down the dark path. :)

Jedi Consular Sage for healing and a Smuggler Gunsliger for DPS for sure. I like to have one for all 3 roles though so I'm sure I'll roll a trooper for my tank class at some point too. May the force help me choose a main.

Re: Choose My Adventure:)

December 01 2011
Ok so I got my BH to lvl 20 (most likely higher but my altitis kicked in) and while the story is good don't get me wrong it didn't grab me the way the other classes did. Though I may still have to play one so I can get Blizz:) I did armormech and actually got some decent upgrades from crafting from it. I got my ship and did some of the space combat and while fun its primarily for diversion as opposed to hardcore space combat. So don't go into it with expectations and you will have fun. The combat was fun and I loved nuking people from a difference, however, I found (and this could just be me) the heat management to be tedious and sometimes dangerous when fighting multiple mobs. If the cooldown wasn't so long on vent heat it would be okay but I found the cooldown to be a bit long.

Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

I'm going to go with Synthweaver, with the other crafts that support that. I'm an avid crafter and I would definitely offer my skills up for use. I used to host a biweekly crafting night that invited all members crafters and non crafters and if we had the mats we'd make people upgrades it was lots of fun (did this in Rift).
