Save me Odioshi!!! ------> plz I mean

I'll put that on the first post. :) I can't imagine Odioshi being taken, but I've tried other names that I would have imagined were completely unheard of (Kageboushi) but were taken. I'll def try to reserve it for you when I get in. :)

Same here I stumpled upon two of them, one while doing the first set of heroics on the home planet and then one in the under city.

The one on the started planet was way out of the way on top of some mt that I would have never thought to go to. I just saw something glowing and had to go investigate. The one inthe under city was right out in the open.

You will be informed via an email sent to the email address registered to the Star Wars: The Old Republic account against which you have redeemed a Pre-Order Code. Thankee! This makes sense.

I believe all planets have between 3 and 5 Datacrons hidden in various locations throughout the map.

Datacrons will provide you with either a permanent boost to a base stat or will provide you with a matrix shard used to create artifact (I think) items which can give you an equipment style stat boost.

Datacrons may be hidden, but you can sometimes hear the unique sound they make if they are nearby and the glow they emit. The glows usually indicate the type of stat they boost or the colour matrix shard they carry, I think.

Sometimes they are very far out of the way and/or require complex tomb raider-esque jumping puzzles to reach. In one case, you are required to ride inside of a balloon gondola for ~20 minutes to reach a pair of them. Bring a friend, read a book or watch TV, but careful not to miss your chance or you'll be waiting ~40 minutes for the balloon to make it back around.

I inadvertently stumbled upon a Datacron this past weekend in Coruscant and went WOW this is a nice find - again this is such great useful information... I love these forum postings, thank you all!

Thank you so much for the information. I always worry about these things as I'm not a techy kind of person. I know where to turn my computer on and that is about it.

To be safe... and you are correct, you can patch any version. The question was will you be able to download the client before launch.

Here's two more for the list...

You get a protocol droid on your ship (at least both jedi classes do). He says he can't fight implying he can't accompany you on your adventures, but if you do take him out as a companion, he HEALs you.

Space battles (which I really enjoy) get much easier when you hit 16 and can buy shields and a shield generator. It's still totally doable before that, but obviously a hull and no shields ain't ideal.

WOW - I did not know you could take the droid along to heal you, that is also great information... I guess I need to pay closer attention to my companions :)

Their is a lot of incorrect information going around about this. To clear it I I have a quote from Steven Read via twitter posted 2 days ago:

FAQ: if you played this weekend you do NOT need to uninstall the #SWTOR client. We are planning to patch it to Early Game Access / Live.

This information is also repeated in this official post on the SWTOR site here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=687631

So to answer your question, no it's not the release build but it will patch to the correct version on launch day. Downloading it now will save you time and allow you to avoid the rush of full client downloads when the final vers is released.

Please keep in mind that this could all change between now and launch, just because a dev says it can be patched don't mean that is what will happen. :P

Yep. Like Dragon Age, Fallout III and such, most recent RPG's use similar engines so you can use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out from a Neverwinter Nights 2 feel to an Oblivion type first person view, whichever you like more. I prefer the former myself.

Re: Client Download Question

That is the client for beta testing. There is a new client. However it will not be released until after the 10th they say. Everyone who has pre-ordered and has the code entered on the Tor website will be given an email to the address they posted. It will contain a link to the new client. Dont waste your time and hard drive with the old one. its useless as of this point. (unless your still in beta1 group).

hope that helps

So while playing through the beta, a couple of weekends ago, I was training my knight and I am guessing I fidgeted with something while I was in combat that I lost total view of my avatar. At first I thought it was a glitch and I was adamant on filling out a ticket but I was caught in another fight and I notices that my blade appeared on my screen and I was wowed that I could play in first person. Not that I played like so, but it was interesting.

Client Download Question

December 01 2011
Wondering if anyone can offer direction on the topic of downloading the client to a new computer. I pre ordered, have the code on my account and I played in beta. BUT I played the beta on my old machine.

For go live will there be some place to download the client or do I need to wait for the disc's that I ordered?

I tried searching the offical forums (searched for Client Download) but could find anything that was a specific on what we need to do.

Any guidance is great and I really apologize if this was covered in a previous topic.

Also, from what I've read so far, speeder training (mount) costs 40k, the speeder itself, 8k, add the cost of skill training and gearing up...it just makes more sense to take slicing to lvl 50, to bring in the credits. After 50, reskill and powerlvl your chosen crafting very quickly.

Anyways thats what I plan to do, the crafting mat swap thing sounds awesome and could work with with my plans too. :)

Very interesting as Pre-Orders are getting a STAP to use, I guess they are not considering this a speeder/mount? I would hate to have to come up with 40K credits to use something I receive as a gift for pre-ordering. Or have I missed something?

How do you actually train in the skills and/or use the schematics you start with? Do you just tell you companion go go craft or what? I did not really look into it during the beta.
