Re: What role (tank/heal/dps) you gonna play in TOR?

December 05 2011
Definitely starting off with a Trooper/Commando, most likely leaning toward the DPS end of the spec tree with some healing. Smuggler/Gunslinger is next on my list, and after giving the Imperial Agent a whirl, I'm probably going to roll up a Sniper eventually too. Really loved the nuanced story of the IA as compared to the Inquisitor or even the bounty hunter.

did not like my color crystal it was yellow and black i want purple (anyone know how to get one )

I agree, the yellow and black is horrid! There is a craft that can make parts for your gear and I think they can make different colors, not sure on what colors thou. Also you will get items from quests that will eventually replace the yellow and black crystal.

with 99.99% certainty, I'll be initially rolling up a Jedi Consular Assassin. I'm leaning more towards the outright DPS but may pick up some tanking skills to help serve as an off-tank if needed.

Which I may need some guidance on from more experienced tanks. I've only ever played healers and glass cannons, so we'll see how things go down with my guy. I still need to come up with a name for him DAMN!

Re: What server are the guilds going to be on?

December 05 2011
Soo excited at this news update:
"Today we are announcing that the Pre-Launch Guild Program for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ has come to an end. Guilds that have met the prerequisite of having four members redeem their Pre-Order Codes at our Code Redemption Center are now locked for transfer into the game in time for our December 20th launch.

If your guild has qualified for import, you can expect to receive an email at some time over the next several days. This email will give you further details on how to check the status of your guild as well as further details about how to join your guild once you’re in the game. Your email will also tell you which server your guild has been assigned to, so you will know which one to select when Early Game Access begins. While we will do everything we can to ensure that your Allies and Adversaries are on your server with you, we can’t necessarily guarantee that every guild will see their Allies and Adversaries on their server with them.

We want to thank each and every one of you who took part in the program, and we look forward to seeing you all in the game!"

Well signing up with Knights doesn't mean you can't also play with another guild on an EU server.

I'm an Aussie myself. So I will also be seeing how it goes. Hopefully there will be enough players.

But officially Australia isn't part of the world contained in the world-wide release, so we don't get servers at all.

And yes, I completely 100% understand wanting there to be people on when you play. That's been my problem with WoW too.

Another aussie!! We should stick together!! Please tell me you plan to play republic??

Re: What server are the guilds going to be on?

Ah I see! Thanks!

At the moment I am very much on the fence, for this reason: I am European, and while I do not mind generally to play on US servers (did that many years with SWG), I am not as young anymore as back then, and I am not sure how populated a US server will be at times *I* will likely play.

You see back then I was student and had plenty of time and stamina. ^^ So I could play all night. Now, it is not so, heh. I would LOVE to play with you guys! And I entered the guild and preordered and all, so I am definitely going to start a char there to see. But as I said, my time is European. Now as I hear there are only very few people for a EU guild, so I see it would not make sense to make a EU guild for 6-7 people.

Just saying as info here. ^^ It all boils down to the question how active the US server is going to be at my times, since I dislike to walk always alone when the server is dead empty, you understand. ^^

Im gonna be a Jedi Sage! It was the most fun time i think i have ever had leveling a healer. I also tried out the Bounty Hunter for a few levels and was having a blast. There is something to be said for shooting rockets out of your arms lol.

I've been meaning to come to this thread to watch this since my flash at work was broken, but kept forgetting. Now that I did, I'm very glad. I felt I knew what was going on in the video, but then at the end, I still cried.

Once you're in the game, each character can independently select a guild, so you're all set. You'll just need to get invitations for your Empire toons.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. :D

I started watching because the one-way time portal back to primeval Earth reminded me of Julian May's excellent Saga of Pliocene Exile. This might be one of those shows that's only as good as the villains are bad, so I'm still on the fence but get more interested as they reveal the bigger conspiracy. Plus, the Reynolds actor is pretty easy on the eyes.

Unfortunately, you can only join 1 guild on the TOR website, so i just stuck with KoS. Hopefully they will put us on the same server.

Does anyone know yet if you can join more than 1 guild? I'm currently in KOS but would want to put my Empire characters in LOS, much like in STO...

This is why I don't give money to HRC or GLAAD. They never use the money to make anything meaningful like ths ad. They just use it for their overpriced leaders and their galas to pat themselves on the back.

Another show I just haven't had a chance to watch that's been DVR'ed. At this point, I'll probably wait till the end of the season to see if it stays around and then watch them this summer.

I don't know if it needs to be the captain (I'd prefer an alien captain, but I doubt that's a surprise to anyone on this board :P ), but it definitely needs to be at least one of the senior officers.

I disagree that the gay character should be alien. That's one of the ways that they've sold our community short is with the too subtle alien allegories, such as the Janai, Dax's affair with her old wife, and the Vulcan mind meld AIDS allegory with t'Pol. No more hiding behind the sci if to show gay characters. Just show a gay characater.
