Also, is it supposed to open a new browser tab when clicking a link from the feed on the home page? I don't remember it doing that before(fairly certain it just directed to said link within the active window/tab).

But again, I might be a tad crazy. :silly:

Yeah, it didn't do that before. I turned that option on this time, but I don't like it either so I turned it back off. :P

I've noticed similar issues that MrIzzy brought up for quite some time. I've had to log out of several pages if I've opened a bunch reading posts but just thought this was a site quirk. I would think if you actually clicked "log out" it would log you out of the site totally but as I have absolutely no idea how all the wonderful things you can do on a site are actually made to work (or how things are linked together in functionality), I just figured it was something I had forgotten to do.

No I don't use that when I'm at work. I also use the incognito window in chrome while browsing so nothing is stored.

It may just be me, but I think there may be a bug in the "logged in" function. I think it is not automatically logging inactive users out of the site. I have NEVER seen this many people online at one time, and quite frankly I don't think we get that much traffic.

Also, I usually get logged out automatically after 10 minutes (and I would love if this were increased to say 30 minutes  ), but I actually closed out of the browser, and went back in an hour later and was still logged in.

Just thought I'd bring it up! Otherwise the site is fantastical as always.

Thank you for your hard work, your time, and all you do for us!

Do you check the "Remember Me" box when you log in?

I increased the session timer to 1440 minutes (1 day) for those that have issues with being logged out and that's why there were so many logged in users/guests. I've modified the module so they won't show up like that anymore. We'll try the extended session timer for awhile and see if it causes any problems in the long run.

The guildmaster is the only character that is forced to stay in a guild. If that person wishes to leave, the title of guildmaster has to be transferred to someone else

One lesser-known science fiction author I love is Connie Willis. She has marvelous collections of short stories, fun romantic romps like Bellwether, and not-so-fun but excellent heavy (in both senses of the word) works like The Doomsday Book. Oh, and Lincoln's Dreams.

As a penny-pincher with a Kindle, I've been discovering some of the classics you can get for free or very cheap (and they don't take up any physical space on your book shelves!). Right now I'm in the middle of Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, from his complete works. I read Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde, and some other classics. I even tried some of the Oz books (L Frank Baum, not the HBO show with the naked Chris Meloni), but many of them are not very good.

And I'll throw another vote in for Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. (Try Good Omens if you want them both at the same time!)

I love Terry Pratchett books, his humour and talent for showing us our world twisted hilariously into his fantasy Discworld always makes me laugh out every time I read the books. Plus there are loads of them so you won't get bored quickly.

If you want something a bit more serious and Sci-Fi, my favourite book in that genre is "Intervention" by Julian May. It's about the emergence of psychics over the world during the last 60 years and how they changed the world, good and bad. All while being watched by aliens races hoping that humans would grow up enough for them to make contact. The book is part of a series that takes part in the far future, but this one is the best to start with.

I'm relieved to see that everyone is ok with this idea, so far, lol. I'll give it a few more days to ensure everyone gets a chance to comment.

Ltervlet fully explained the way we would transfer characters from SoS to KoS, and I'd just like to add that we would need players to ask to be re-invited to KoS as we can't just transfer the characters when they are offline (and we wouldn't do that without permission anyway). For inactive characters, they will be automatically removed (by Ltervlet, thanks) after 60 days, but active characters need to be transfered by the players themselves.

Please be patient when asking for an invite to KoS from SoS, and it would be wise to ask in the KoS chat channel if anyone can invite you to KoS before leaving SoS. To answer the question about when you can ask for a transfer, there is nothing stopping anyone asking for an invite to KoS now, but I would ask that everyone wait until the weekend so we can be sure that it is what the majority of players want, and so Ltervlet is not swamped (there are more people with invite ability on at weekends normally).

Halish is right that the officers will be keeping SoS as a "spare" guild and we will have our least played characters put there so we can do that. One idea for SoS is that we can use it for crafting members so they can store supplies there, but we would only start buying bank tabs there once we have all the tabs in KoS and LoS, and SoS is clear of characters.

I'm definitely happy for this to happen. Especially with the knowledge of how much the tabs are going to be. I hadn't been able to login to the Test Server to check myself unfortunately!

To date it seems like those that have responded have agreed with the remerging of the guilds on the Republic side. I, personally, don't see an issue with people being reinvited to KoS is they wish to go ahead.
