Re: Knights of Stonewall Update - March 2012

To try and answer your questions, Seannewboy. Each time I log on, I will check both rosters to see if there is anyone that's been invited in my absence. The majority of the time, I am the only one on in LOS. I think we are missing each other just because of the different times we log on. Right now, I am currently the one on the most with invite capabilities. I am currently working on trying to get in touch with the remainder of the members that have yet to transfer to The Harbinger. While there are several Captains when you look at the roster, most of those belong to the same people so in reality we don't have a whole lot of people that can invite. Would you be interested in joining their ranks? I tried to get as many as possible so we wouldn't have any invite issues and for the most part we haven't. I have always told anyone that finds they are having difficulty getting an invite, they are more than welcome to send me a PM via the website and I will log on when they do to extend them an invite. So far, only one person has had to use that. (Unfortunately, that even "runs into a wall" because many of our members have never been back to the website since they registered and I have no other way to reach people :( ) It's quite possible when you saw that invite request it was me, because I transferred my last 2 characters over during the time you mentioned and they were carrying the contents of the guild banks which have been returned to each of our tabs.

I am not trying to "offer" any of this as an excuse in any way shape or form, but am trying to answer the topics you have brought up. As much as I might like to, I can't do everything and I can only play one side or another at any particular time. My biggest wish has always been that there would be some way I could "monitor" both sides at the same time, but developers have never allowed that in any game, so we have to use the current arrangement. :S ) Our membership is still international, all of our members log on at different times of the day and time differences are always going to be an issue. We are basically having to rework everything as if the guilds are brand new, so if you have ANY suggestions, I am all ears. :) The next item I am going to be trying to work on is getting Officers appointed but that means we have to have members who are willing to take on more responsibility and that too has always been an issue. Real life takes precedent. Another thing that causes some issues is many of our members are playing more than one game at a time. Look at the "Other gaming" category in the forums for evidence to that. If people are playing other games, they're not logging into SWTOR so where does that leave us? Unfortunately, until the developers figure out they need to release new content more often than they do (and not in dribs and drabs like they have been), people aren't going to want to focus on just this game and that alone is going to keep our numbers way down. :(

But again, I eagerly await any suggestions anyone may have that are workable. I'd rather not be the only one responsible for everything because that never ends well.....

Bump with a request for updates on the 2 guilds. Especially i would like to see the leadership thread updated.

Currently i am the most common LOS player, i.e. normally im the ONLY LOS player.

I just took thurs and Friday off after the 4th holiday (usa) and i was in SWTOR most of the time i was playing games online. A good portion of Sunday i was starting a new Trooper character and the max number of guildies was 5 (thats inclusive for those that dont play the game), which is 2-4 more than the common number i see in LOS. While i was on LOS part of the time at least one person asked for an invite when i was the only one from the guild on.

Re: "City of the Polmar Ree" - feedback needed!

July 08 2012
So, hope this isn't weird, but I just joined this fleet and was trawling around the boards and saw this thread. "City of the Polmar Ree" is one of my favorite foundry missions ever, and I said to myself "The guy who wrote it is in Stonewall?" And then I fist-pumped vigorously. Will you be my foundry sensei? That is all.

I have recently updated the mission with overhauled maps, gameplay mechanics and some storyline additions. I also fixed some typos and the flow of the story/dialog.

I'm quite proud of the new "Terok Nor Docking Ring" map. It is a bit larger and I tried to make it more three-dimensional. There's also a Control Room and some obstacles added in the player's path.

"Celestial Temple" was overhauled to look more ominous and mysterious. "S.S. Ratosha Bridge" was mostly beautified, with some more consoles and a little Bajoran touch. "S.S. Ratosha Cargo Area" was updated with better gameplay mechanics and a little sidestory about pests in Cargo Bay 06. :)

Overall I tried to improve the mission flow by changing many contacts to triggers (with the nice effect that most dialogs can only be played once, giving some meaning to your dialog choices!).

I would still love to get some detailed feedback. And I'll be very thankful for any input, feedback or opinions about the mission.

Any Stone Wallers playing this, besides me?
It really is a fun little game. You drive around in tanks, blowing stuff up.

Anyway, The game is holding a Model Tanks contest, which I entered. The Devs picked the top 13 entries as finalists. My entry is one of them.
And now its up to the players to vote for the top 5. It's quickly become apparent that the contestant with the most friends will win, regardless of the quality of their entry. The current leader, with 48 votes, is really pretty awful looking.

The finalists can be viewed here:
http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/138061-tank-model-finalists/

I am hesitant to do this; I'd prefer a fair compitition with all entries judged on their own merits, but its apparent that the fairness of the competition has been compromised. So, I'm asking any current or former WoT players to have a look and vote for whichever entry you think deserves it.

Mine is entered under the name "Seras_Victoria"

Thanks :)

I voted for you ^.^ You do good work, too! ^.^

What gets me about that contest is probably the same that gets you. Something like a popularity contest? The worst tank model up there seems to have the most votes, and an extremely decent model gets -31? (I voted for him, too, because he did a good job and no one deserves their work denigrated due to their popularity)... (I also downvoted that +82 vote tank because.. well it's not a very good job. I don't care if it did start out as scrap metal. Would have looked better if he hadn't tried to paint it. :p )

All good reasons QiqJoe! I am on Voss now with my Sage but haven't been there long enough to really get into anything yet. As I avoid pvp like the plague, :pinch: I will probably never see Ilum but I'm not curious enough to go see it anyway. I really hate being one-shot....repeatedly...

Re: Which planet is your favorite?

My personal favorite is Voss. I love the scenery there: the constant autumn colors and trees. I also love the general story arc there. I love the fact that it's a completely different culture and exploring the gray force culture of the Mystics. (I'm also reading The Dawn of the Jedi comic books right now that explore the original Je'daii, which I find very fascinating and add to why I like Voss more.) My Consular's storyline was a little bit of a sidetrack there, but the archetype of the Consular fit well with the whole planet. My Inquisitor's storyline was awesome there!

I loved finding out more about the Jedi on Tython. Korriban and Dromund Kaas were wonderful for finding out more about the Sith, especially the tombs and temples. Alderaan was visually stunning; I just wish it explored the house politics/history a little more. Ilum was really cool because of the unknown-to-me factor and how it fit in with the Republic and Sith. And one of my other favorite planets (a lot of you will think I'm nuts)...Tatooine. I thought it was a beautifully done desert planet that captured what was shown in the movies very well; the story arc wasn't bad either. And hey, it has a friggin' balloon ride!

We generally just refer to them as "Stonewall Fleets", or individually by their abbreviations, SWF, DSS, HNR.
