But if someone has to spend a week on another server - why not have them enjoy their time with other guild mates?

I think that's just fine, no problem...

I just wanted to calm down this talk of NEVER being able to transfer, one way transfers, nomadic tribes of queers, etc.. because people do take these things to heart..

Siafu well said..

Minimum age:1.
Well, it is good to see you don't discriminate, Halish!
Either way, i believe this site provides information and stats as opposed to a place to shop for guilds. It doesn't have to be too specific due to the fact most guilds have a website with all of the information somebody in the market for a new guild would ever need! By the way, i think Crystal Desert is looking very balanced population wise, well, as far as the information on this site goes. Good pick :).

Hell yeah, I can do 11pm, I get home from work at that time anyway, I'll just boot up the comp before I go to work, that way I can get started trying to login and what not. I'd also be up for the Vent party thing, what time would that start, if someone could tell me that, it'd be great.

Well, personally I'll be on vent starting at around 11pm EST time i'd think, but it isn't super official, so people will most likely be trickling in over those next 4 hours :).

Okay so I played the ranger during the stress test and to my surprise, I loved it.

However, their utility skills don't interest me at all apart from Quickening Zephyr, that's a no-brainer.

I've considered traps, I didn't get to use them.. but they seem bland. I've thought about using mostly survival utilities and traiting them to recharge x% (20% I think) faster. I guess Sharpening Stone and Muddy Terrain might come in handy.. but meh. Boring!

Utility skills are the only thing holding me back from the ranger.

Speaking of, do you guys know if GW2 will allow any sort of interface customization, user creaed addons?

It won't, but that shouldn't stop people from attempting to do something similar to texmod in Guild Wars 1.

Re: Guild Emblem Impromptu Design contest (kind of)!

Oh my.. lol.

As far as emblems go, I personally don't care what it looks like .. but if we had guild capes like GW1 that would be different story.

However this lion emblem is probably my favorite but the arrow is pretty cool too (but not for dirty reasons).

Aww, sure it is.

Seriously though, it's a neat emblem and if anyones penis looks like that, you should see a doctor. :p

Also the "inside" joke of the fist would actually put me off using it..

You don't like fists? :silly:

We actually have a very sizeable contingent of none-penis adoring members in Stonewall Vanguard.

Not every Stonewall member likes penis. :P I do, but I thought I'd speak up for those who don't.

I really like nniccs fist-arrow emblem.

The fist (upwards) can carry a lot of meaning for us: we stand, we survive, we are united, we fight, we raise, etc. I think it's so perfect for us that it's almost obvious.

Also the fist could be an internal joke for those with a more pervers mind *wink* *wink* lol

Any chance of changing the arrow for a nice beautiful penis? No? Oh well just put a pink arrow then.

you guys are seriously making a mountain out of a mole hill...

first transfers are not one way, so yes folks will be able to transfer to CD... second there is not a hard cap that once reached no one will EVER be able to move to CD.. you're working yourselves into a panic on assumptions that aren't even true..

at the very worse (only if you can't wait) you might have to play on another server for a few hours..

First - I hope it's not an issue.. but you are right about the assumptions.. there are many including some of your own. As to the mountain and molehill - I feel the ones voting against it - are making a bigger deal than it should be.

This is ultimately about planning for the "what if I cannot join Stonewall Vanguard on Crystal Desert because it's full for (unknown amount of time)". We hope no one runs into this potential problem - or it's very few people at best and it's short.

Why are we against planning for a TEMPORARY backup server so guildmates play together on the same server while they wait to transfer to CD?

Crystal Desert guildmates will be able to enjoy Upgrades and Bonuses within a day or two - but individuals spreadout on multiple servers will have to wait longer because their influence didn't build as quickly.

If we plan for it and everyone is able to get on CD in a "few hours" as you state - it's a great and wonderful thing.

But if someone has to spend a week on another server - why not have them enjoy their time with other guild mates?

I agree with you and MMOwarrior: I voted for the temp server for exactly the purpose you stated above.

The very minor issue is: This should not have been a debate or a vote or lengthy posts and polls ....which MMOwarrior said very accurately in an earlier posts.....more or less...this is adding "confusion" here.

This (respectfully) should have been:

If something happens and you can't get on CD right away then here XXXXXXX - XXXXXX is where you go temporarily until you can join CD. (Period)

Opening this up for discussion just lead to what is happening now "confusion" as nice as the gesture was to give choices and different voices to be heard....this called for 1 decision maker....all the rest say, "okay."

I'm so glad I found this...didn't know this information either. I was scouting thread topics looking for a possible lead on who our leaders are going to be in game and found this.

Very cool!

1. Okay so do we have apps in on those who are looking to be leaders in GW2?

(I'm a better right-hand man than anything so I don't see myself leading the charge in this game. However, I would like to know what progress is being made in this area...if there is any.)

2. Also the article mentions a gold-expense for the Commander Manual....does anyone know how much gold?

3. If the cost of that is really high....will there be a way through the guild to help that person cover the cost of that expense or will that person just pay it on their own?

Ok I've added us to the GW2Guilds website. Once they've "approved" it, I'll post the link here.

Remember in the other thread when I said these sites are not fit for purpose? Well I stand by that. [strike]There is no way to set us up as a world-wide guild. We have to declare that we're US because we're on a US server (even though they have two totally different options, location and server) [/strike]*Just noticed they do have an international option  *.

They ask what voice communication we use (I selected Ventrilo) but don't give us anyway to explain it's purpose or requirement (maybe in my guild it's required for events?). Yes they let us pick between casual and hardcore but that's about as complex as it gets, are all guilds exactly the same? do they all fit a certain "role"? apparently so.

They have the option for a minimum age but don't give the option for other membership requirements. Perhaps I want only people who have achieved level 80? or maybe my guild requires only Mesmers?

The entire purpose of the website is to help people find guilds but their options are about as basic as basic gets and basically it comes down to you having to read the text and go to their website to really find out about the guild, which is no different then posting on the other websites. And I very much doubt it'll improve from now until the end of time.

It's not fit of purpose but like I said, I've added the guild. Mini-rant over lol

Note: I've spoken none-truths as examples. We don't require you use Ventrilo or are a Mesmer :p
