Hey guys! I was reading up on Gw2Guru today and saw this great big post pertaining to preparations for the night (or morning) of head start. It really got me thinking, and I also wanted to know what everyone else was planning!

Here's my plan:

Preparation includes:
-Buying a giant bag of pistachios
-filling my Camelbak with ice cold water
-finding ways to stay awake without using any kind of drug (caffeine,etc.) (check)
-check patch client every day until head start
-buy healthy snacks that will actually provide me with energy instead of..well..not providing me energy

Plans:
-sleep in until 12p.m. EST
-go to the gym (because i'll feel better about what i'm about to do...)
-come home, maybe read a book,etc.
-get ready at the computer around 10 p.m. EST
-launch GW2 client
-play happy wheels x.x
-get on ventrilo 11p.m. EST
-12p.m-3p.m. spam login button
-create 5 characters quickly to save names
-PvE until 5-7a.m.
-sleep for about 5 hours
-GW2!!!

So i just wanted to know what you guys are going to plan, because honestly it is just such an exciting topic for me to discuss! Will there be any marathoners here? (if so, i might join ya!)

Hello everyone,

Our community has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years, starting with expanding into Star Wars: The Old Republic (TOR) and recently into Guild Wars 2 (GW2). (Even more recently, we’ve had a small group start in The Secret World.) We’ll shortly be reaching 2,000 members.

Our goal from the beginning was to create one community that spanned multiple games that included the welcoming and friendly atmosphere that we started in Star Trek Online (STO). I believe we’ve accomplished that wonderfully and I’m excited to see how our community continues to grow over the coming years.

Part of our success has been from maintaining the same standards of our community into all of our guilds; the same membership process, the same Code of Conduct, the same social network. These things can now be seen, not as aspects of Stonewall Fleet, but as part of our entire community.

There remains one aspect that’s been in need for sometime: a name. While Stonewall Fleet is a great name for us in STO, but it didn’t quite fit for TOR or GW2. Each of those guild were named appropriately to fit the culture and theme of the games in which the run, but a name for our community at large is very important, as well as, building an image for our community as a whole.

After a poll, it was shown that people had interest in calling the community “Stonewall Gaming”, but a split between whether to call us a “Community” or an “Alliance”. A long with those, there was an interest in “Network”, partial due to one of the features that I feel is one of our greatest, the social networking aspect of our website. For this reason, I selected, based on the input of our members, to name our community the Stonewall Gaming Network.

Now that we’ve selected a name and a domain, stonewallgaming.net, we can start moving some shared aspects of our community to this name. One of the first goals is to change over our email addresses to the new domain. Up until recently, all of our emails came from stonewallfleet.com which can be a bit annoying for those of our members that mainly use the Knights of Stonewall or Stonewall Vanguard websites. With time, we'll be building this image and name of Stonewall Gaming Network.

Thanks to you all for helping make the Stonewall Gaming Network what it is today.

Thanks Halish, but gah. annoying. The WvWvW thing complicates it too. Because this guild will be far more likely to be involved in that than my friends on the other server. Plus i'd hate to not be on the big gay server. sigh. I wonder how long guesting will take.

Does anyone know if you can change servers if you delete all your toons? not that I'd want to.

If you want to roll with your friends Xcentric then go for it. As much as I'd love you to join us on CD, life isn't perfect and you should roll wherever you think you'll be playing most (or perhaps who you want by your side in WvW).

You're still welcome in the guild to chat or guest to us whenever you like.

I don't think it'll be too long before guesting is activated.

With the way "Home Worlds" work in GW2, I don't think you can create a toon on 2 separate servers. Your account is linked forever to the first server you create a character on (unless you transfer). I believe they did this because of WvW.

So, until guesting is implemented, people will be confined to where they roll first.

Although we might not be able to manage an alliance in game right away - it can always be managed by other means.

Stitch posted the "Server Communities" link last week that gives an example of one community that's going to create an in game guild to serve as an alliance until the real thing comes out.

I like both Sacred Band and The Mattacini. I was in a DAoC guild called Sacred Band - but oddly enough if was pretty straight.

The difficulty for me is that I have several friends in a guild on Jade Quarry. I'm a bit torn because I want to be with you guys, but also want to play with them. Unfortunately, it seems I will have to create 2 toons on separate servers since the "guesting option" won't be available right away.

I like the Sacred Band, but have devs confirmed alliances will be a thing? I haven't heard anything about it, and in fact vaguely remember them saying they wouldn't be included at launch.

Well, the thread at Guru on CD was shut down after being hijacked by one vociferous moron. I'm still mystified these people exist in 2012. I guess they're kept mothballed in a basement somewhere.

One good thing to come of it though was a member of the Synergy Alliance (the remaining big 500+ alliance on CD) stepped in to defend us. So, it looks like we will have many allies on the server.

This should make WvW a blast.

I was posting on that thread, a large amount of people were defending us, and those who attacked us in the beginning actually saw our side of things (except one hypocrite). It was a good discussion, and should not have been declared a "Flame War" and shut down.

I think we should wait to form alliances until we know the structure of other guilds a little bit better. If it so happens that we do want to join Gayme0n and RoughTrade, then we can join their alliance after a while. However, if we find that we are super compatible with another guild that is more than okay with our LGBT friendly-ness(?) then maybe that is the guild for us. What i am saying is that we don't want to find ourselves in an uncomfortable alliance that we don't honestly enjoy. just food for thought :D!

While its a good suggestion, I will tell you that the greeks culture during that time was far different than today.


For one, homosexuality was only widely accepted between an older male and a pubescent boy.


In other words to name yourself after it would kind of make us look like pedophiles, granted the general population has no idea about that... but it won't take long if we ever got large for people to start making fun of us.

Personally I think the alliance should be named Stonewall, because it represents the oppression between the law and discrimination of gays. It was a very tough battle at the start, and without the stonewall riots we would not be as far today as we are now.

My main is going to be a Sylvari Ele, but my second I think is going to be a Norn Warrior, and I generally split time between chars pretty evenly (maybe TOO evenly, haha).
