Re: HALLOWEEN FLEET EVENT!

Awesome.. I'll interpret that as "Sure, mention it and send any interested non-fleeties to me until I say stop!".

Does it require much extra effort on your part to add them? We could post in the forums (e.g., with a recruiting message), but I'll let you guys take care of that if you see fit.

In any case, is there a public link to your poster that we can refer them to? I assume they won't be able to easily access this thread directly... if not I'll work out something.

Araa,

Thanks for reminding me about the event listing on the KDF side. I will list the event there shortly!

The event prizes have been donated from members of the Stonewall community, to be put back into the community. Essentially what this means is that while prizes are exclusive to fleet members who hold a minimum rank of 'member' in any of the Stonewall fleets, I wouldn't be completely opposed to taking members from other fleets through our 'haunted house', if they're wanting to see what it's all about.

As it stands right now, I have one team from another fleet that would like to participate in the event. I'm allowing them to do so, with the understanding that they're running the event for fun, and that they won't qualify for prizes. I wouldn't be opposed to allowing more teams from outside of the fleets, but Stonewall community members receive first priority :)

Two questions Voleron:

1. Do you want us to start a separate Fleet Event to allow kdfers to RSVP from the House with our kdf toons?

2. What was decided regarding external promotion? Do you want us to advertise this publicly or keep it to fleeties?

Cheers,
Araa/John

EVENT UPDATE!

Stonewall fleet members of the House of Nagh'Red (KDF) are now welcome to participate in this event! See the second post on page one of this thread for details of the KDF faction's involvement in this incident!

Also, please note the change to the award ceremony day and time.

If somebody has any of the components for them it may also be worth trying to get a crafter to make them. I believe the runes use a gold crafting drop or at least the lower tier ones i have seen do.

IN GAME ITEMS OR CRAFTING: OFFERS & REQUESTS

(I'm hoping this will become a "sticky-thread," so it doesn't get lost for lack of being bumped, so we don't have to search the threads for it.)

I really could use help from the guild getting:

Superior Rune of Divinity (x6)

The market value of them is around 2 gold each, and even if I could afford them (which I can't)...they are never for sale....have checked constantly for them on trading post. I know how much they are worth but if there is anyone who gets these and you are not going to use them....PLEASE...considering a goodwill donation for my main....I don't have alts so this would help my main greatly get the runes I need for my character. Even a guild price would be better than nothing. Thank you so much if you can help. :)

ps: (IF I get any of these runes I will immediately update the amount I currently have, so I don't get more than what I need.)

The official website went down due to high traffic yesterday which is why I have linked the back up site ^ up there.

But it's back up now!

I don't know how many of you have had a look but there's a pretty extensive (well two actually) FAQ's on the main page as as well as a write-up about the game.

To quote a few things:

Not a subscription but not free-to-play; rather a hybrid of these two business models. Much like ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2, you will purchase the PC game and pay no recurring subscription charges. Your purchase of the game will allow you to play in the universe for free, forever! The game will offer a variety of virtual items for purchase with in-game credits allowing you to spend money on items that offer more ways to express yourself, provide convenience, and customize your experience. But the cardinal rule regarding "in-game purchases" is: Players who spend money purchasing in-game credits will have no advantage over players who spend time!
Everything is bought with in-game credits. These purchases won't offer any advantage over someone who puts in the "game-time" to earn the same amount of credits. You might ask, why have "in-game" purchases at all? This allows us the resources to support the game on an ongoing basis as well as continually add content.

There will be public servers that we host for the main universe/game. The universe is going to be a persistent living entity, where your actions, (discovering a jump point and successfully navigating its jump for the first time, designing a ship for sale in the online shops, winning a key in-game battle etc.), will be woven into the history and lore of the game.

Even though there are other alien races, we're beginning with the human side of it. The Star Citizen universe has evolved into a futuristic version of the Roman Empire. We thought it would be very interesting to have Citizenship be something that you don't automatically receive. It's something you have to earn through civic duty or military service. It's a way to create a class system, which creates the potential for conflict among various groups and players.

Re: The usual STF Deflector-Engine-Shield Question

October 11 2012
I had just picked up my MACOflector and subbed it in for my old Jemuflector when I heard that I apparently had the 2nd best DPS in the STF where I won it. This made me go back and think a bit:
  1. The 2xMACO set bonus, magna rebate, seems...kind of dumb. We're talking barely more useful than a white doff.
  2. 2xJem'Hadar gives you a polaron damage bonus and I use polaron everything and apparently that's working out better than I thought!
  3. The MACOflector has huge perks for tanks, but I am not particularly tanky.
  4. Meanwhile the Jemuflector has a 33% bigger Graviton boost, very important when passing out gravwells like cheap cigars, and an absolutely colossal bonus to siphon and system targeting, which I use all the time.

I think I might have to stick to Jem-Jem-MACO!

BUT I do have to admit the MACOflector has a really cool particle effect.

I think it's safe to say that it'll definitely have First Person and "cock-pit" views just like his older games. I wouldn't be surprised to see a third person "behind the ship" view but we'll just have to wait and see on that.

I think a lot of it will be a bit of wait and seeing. :)

One of those games where you fly the ship First Person Style.

Depends what you mean by flying games?

The game will have both space and ground combat. It has a single-player campaign and an online open sandbox environment (though, I guess details of how extensive this will be will come out over time).

Give the website a read / watch the longer video and a interview: http://backup-na.robertsspaceindustries.com/

He's using a "pledge" system like kickstarter but not using kickstarter.

Re: Specialty Slots...

October 10 2012
There are very few back slot items in the game at current, and none of them provides stats beyond a single upgrade slot.

Strictly speaking, the guild armorer back piece is the only non-story reward piece of back armor, which might make it the "best" by default.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Back_item

So far the best gear I found for that slot would be from the guild armorer, which cost 5g for the level 80 rare version.

Guild Armorer Backpack(s)
Level 35 = 1 Gold = Green Item
Level 60 = 3 Gold = Green Item
Level 80 = 5 Gold = Rare Item

Your personal story Back Brace will give you 4 + 3 stats = 7 total (vs) 6 + 4 stats = 10 for the level 35 Guild Armor Backpack = 1 Gold...don't spend the gold, get the free one from you personal story quest as the stats difference is not worth the $.

At 60 and 80 then consider a Guild Backpack upgrade (if you have that kind of extra $)...I went to level 80 with my personal story Back-Brace with no problems...

80 Rare Guild Backpack with give you (48) total points of mixed states like 14 + 14 + 20 like this or 20 + 14 + 14 etc.

Any idea if there are other sources?
