Do us a flow chart!

November 08 2012
In the most recent two issues of the Stonewall Times, we had a comedy flow chart. Well, *I* thought they were comedy, at any rate ;)

If you didn't see them, check out "Which Star Trek Captain are you?" and "Which Star Trek pet are you?"

Anyway, we've now used up both of our ideas, lol, so we're turning to you guys!

I'm sure you all can think of some comedy flow charts to amuse your fellow Stonewallers. And they don't have to be Star Trek-related... they can be about Star Wars, sci-fi, or in fact anything you can think of.

If you can think of a good one, sketch it out in Word, or Paint, or Powerpoint, or just write out the paths in words. Then do one of the following:

  • email it to times@stonewallgaming.net
  • or message me here on the website
  • or reply to this thread

Thanks :)

Ali

Now on a serious note ... (a floridian's perspective)

So going to vote i see they are using scantron machines this presidential election. We have gone from the punch ballots which we had for decades then freaked out about in the 2000 election .. then paid money for the electric machines and now have gone back to paper and pen for scantron, a system which as a programmer I worked with in doing statistical analysis. Scantron is very prone to misreading documents based on alignment and calibraton issues. I know this first hand. Secondly while I was at my precinct .. folks were marking X on their ballots instead of filling things in completely.

No matter the outcome of this election .. again florida voting is backwards yet again, tons of votes are not going to be counted correctly. Why is there not a preview screen of what was scanned in so you can verify what you just voted for or against? (I mentioned this to the IT guy at my precinct and he said he was just saying the same thing last night, but if I wanted to come by at the end of voting he would show me the machine and results etc .. LOL)

Again it amazes me that we have gone backwards in technology to scantron from the 70's and those standardized tests you took as a kid ... Whomever the supervisor of elections is for florida and or hillsbourough county should be fired for allowing us to go to this ancient and unreliable way of voting.

Now on a national level .. read through the comments of partisinship and possible reports of a voting scandal, and an already filed lawsuit and read this perhaps possible programmers perhaps legitimate video .. which may or may not be real ...

Martin Kerstein has posted a time table on the official GW2 forums:
Something is stirring in the Sea of Sorrows – and we want to make sure that you are not missing out, so here is a schedule (without spoilers) for you, so you can plan ahead:
  • On Friday November 16th at noon PST (20:00 GMT) the weekend will kick off with an Event in Lion’s Arch that you don’t want to miss. This will trigger events in other parts of Tyria as well.
  • *On Saturday November 17th at noon PST (20:00 GMT), another phase will kick in.
Each phase is triggered by a special event, but you will be able to enjoy additional content afterwards even if you cannot make the kick-off time. There is one exception:
The event will culminate in a big Finale on Sunday November 18, make sure you will not miss it. This will be a onetime only event chain that will run multiple hours, and it will kick off at noon PST (20:00 GMT). Again, this will only run once, so make sure you will be there! There will be plenty of content available to enjoy that will remain permanently in the world as a result of the outcome of this event on Sunday.

We will give you more details once we get closer to the event, but wanted to give you an early heads up so you can plan accordingly.

Thank you for hosting the CM runs this weekend, epoch. The difficulty for a first-timer was a rude awakening and my pride suffered a bit, but I still had a great time, thanks!

Re: HALLOWEEN FLEET EVENT!

November 06 2012
I haven't had the time to sit down and write a proper public thank you to Voleron and Traull for the Halloween Event. But I'm doing it now!

1. Thank you so much to both of you for your dedication, talent, patience, and generosity. It is truly humbling to see such amazing creativity. You guys are incredible! :woohoo: (PS: I hope you have both gotten a chance to start catching up on your sleep)

2. Thank you to all of those who donated items for the event - your willingness to share your shiny items was awesome.

3. Thank you to all those who participated in the runs and partnering up, making the event inclusive and fun.

#1, #2, and #3 are the reasons I love Stonewall Fleet. It's events like these that really show who we are as a community.

Mwah,

Freely admit I'm not crazy about the hull and pylon sections. In fact, the pylons for a lot of the newer Fed ships remind of some of the star cruiser variants (Avengers and Vanguard) in that they're disproportionate and curved oddly. Plus, the scale issues on the shuttles and such make me wonder where the heck those runabouts are supposed to be stored.

Yes, I think they have gone overboard on the stats for this ship, I was quite surprised when I read the blog. If it were a nicer design I might have gone with it.

I just don't like the look of the vessel. :(

That is legit bananas.

Buh. Nah. Nuhs.

It's gonna be hard justifying staying in any other Sci vessel from here on out.
