Re: First Digital Expansion for SWTOR

December 26 2012
What kind of information are you looking for Odioshi? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else but I also don't regularly check any other websites that deal with SWTOR other than the "official" site. This will be like an expansion in any other game, if you don't have it you won't have access to anything the expansion brings with it such as missions, flashpoints, or heroics.

According to the SWTOR website, there will be "story-driven missions" (I am taking this to mean class stories but I could be totally wrong in that regard), and we are supposed to be gaining abilities as well. Other than that, all of which is from the SWTOR posting, I haven't heard or seen anything different. :)

That was actually quite a good episode. I liked the new TARDIS interior, and that the new writer seems to be keeping the show fresh. Clara is the new mystery that will keep you watching into the next season I think. Very good. :)

Happy Holidays!

December 25 2012
(I attempted to post this as my status, but alas, it was too long. Have a wonderful holiday!)

Twas the night before Trekmas, when all through the shard,
Some captains were stirring, still playing hard.
In circles they raced through wintery air,
In hopes the Breen warship soon would be theirs.

Other captains nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Orions danced in their heads.
Omnipotent Q in his nightie and cap,
Had just settled his brain for a long winter's nap.

When out on the snow there arose such a clatter,
Q sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to wonderland he vanished in a flash,
Tugged on his robes and straightened his sash.

The moon on corpses of men made of snow,
Gave the luster of midday to carnage below.
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But Feds and Klingons bonded in cheer.

"Humans and Vulcans sharing fistbumps with Gorn?
Where is the conflict, chaos, discord, and scorn?
If these mere mortals want fellowship this night,
I'll give them something to help them unite."

His eyes, how they twinkled with hints of malice!
Even his father never seemed so callous.
His droll little sneer was drawn up like a bow,
As he waved his hand towards the ice and snow.

A rumbling from deep 'neath the frozen lake,
Gave the minor bipeds a mighty shake,
As something emerged, the ice, it did crack.
A snowy overlord began to attack.

He was chubby and plump, with spines made of sticks,
His blasts of powder hitting like bricks!
A charcoal grimace and a twist of his head,
Gave those in his sights something to dread.

He let out a roar, freezing those whom accost,
Called forth his minions who healed him with frost.
Yet these weren't children the colossus did face,
But troops of honor and explorers of space.

Armed with weapons like Avalanche and Flurry,
Flinging hard-packed snow in balls of fury.
The battle raged on, frigid and intense,
Until the monster was felled by their defense.

From his gazebo perch, Q watched in dismay,
As his frosty creation was destroyed in the fray.
"Oh, well," he did shrug, "let them think they have power.
I'll just try again in the next half an hour."

He hovered above them, these reveling ants,
Seemingly unmoved as they cheered and they danced.
But under his breath, through a grin so slight,
"Happy Trekmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Fractal Dungeon Runs

December 25 2012
We should start running Fractals as a guild more often. I would like to eventually get everyone doing daily runs, but until then I am definitely available to help others catch up. If we can get regular daily runs for 10,20, 30... etc. lets try to plan. Post your fractal lvls and input if interested.

It sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe next time the event can be announced in advance so that people will know to be on for it.

Hey Six/Siran!

I'm sorry to have missed you for this event! I would definitely have loved to have seen how many more people we could've crammed into the mess hall! Things turned rowdy after the event though, when a few of the boys broke out the Vulcan brandy and replaced Traull's latinum pile trophy with golden Toblerone bars... there were a few overnight stays in the brig, but I digress...

For most of the larger-scale events that I host, I try to advertise well in advance (as with the Scavenger Hunt, Halloween Event etc). Unfortunately, because of my 24/7 on-call schedule for work, some of the smaller-scale events that I run are more spontaneous, for that reason, as I can't always anticipate in advance, which days I'm not likely to be called-in on.

That being said, we'll definitely be running more Trek Trivia events in the future, and I'll endeavour to advertise as far in advance as is possible!

ALSO, we already have some great event ideas lined up for the New Year, so keep your eye on the forums, in-game event thread, and for our advertisements in the next edition of the Stonewall Times for more info!

Hope to see you there :D

Cheers,
Dave.

This event was one of the best Fleet event I have ever attended!

I congratulate my fellow participants, and most especially, the organizers, for their exceptional execution of the event. It ran easily, smoothly, professionally, and was a LOT of fun.

Even the event photos are awesome, and I had the pleasure of running some fleet mark missions immediately following the event with other participants. What fun!

Many thanks again, and happy holidays to all!

Re: Trek Trivia Event! (Number Two)

Weren't able to attend the second Trek Trivia Event? Think that you're the knowledge keeper of all things Trek? Think that you'd have given Jacien a run for his Zen?

Find out how you'd have fared in the Trek Trivia event! Enjoy this complimentary sampling of ten of the fifty questions that were posed during the event. Compare your answer with the answers in the bottom of the post!

  1. What was the name of the sister-ship of the USS Enterprise-D?
  2. What is the title given to the leader of a Kazon sect?
  3. In the movie: Star Trek the Motion Picture, what space probe became V'Ger?
  4. What was the name of Doctor Zimmerman's holographic iguana?
  5. In the Original Series episode: "Arena", how does Captain Kirk defeat the Gorn?
  6. Who is Garak's father?
  7. What is the name of the entity that kills Lt. Tasha Yar?
  8. Unscramble this location in the Star Trek universe: KCELHDOO
  9. Finish the following Star Trek quote: "Excuse me… Excuse me? I’d just like to ask a question… What does God need ____ _ ________ ?
  10. List the following Starfleet officers (Archer, Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway) from YOUNGEST to OLDEST, based on the age at which they achieved the rank of Captain?

Click the 'spoiler' heading below to view the answers!

Remember, it's not just about knowing the answer without resorting to Google, it's also about having the fastest fingers! If you did well, make sure that you join us for the next run of the event, to be announced in the near future!

If your knowledge of Trek is somewhat lacking, be sure to brush up on your skills and be ready to dominate the next event!

Thanks again to all who participated!
