Star Trek Phase 2 was supposed to be a continuation of the original series with the same cast members plus some new ones. It was supposed to be another 5 year mission and Gene Rodenberry wanted a gay character in the main cast but the script never got picked up. I believe Majel Barret Rodenberry gave the green light on these productions shortly before her death.

Great question! :cheer: One of the reasons I started this thread was to open the floor to ideas and suggestions and coordinate some fun social activities that we can all participate in.

In years past we've gone clubbing, touring places on the strip like Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and shopping at the premium outlets and Forum shops. We also met for most meals both in the Hotel and tried to find some cool yet affordable places to eat on The Strip like Hash House a Go Go, or we would eat in the hotel. We and the Cryptic devs took over the Irish Pub (that's right, we roll with the devs a lot thanks to certain connections ;) and turned it into party central for the entire convention.

Do we definitely since most convention events are scheduled before 6pm there's a lot we can do and if anyone has suggestions or ideas let's brainstorm. You can post suggestions or links on this thread or in the Vegas Convention Group. We've got some of the old group going this year but we've also got a good number of 1st timers who've expressed an interest I'd love to hear any ideas you may have. :)

Kirk's nephew has been in a few other short filmed star trek episodes.

So when are general admission tickets supposed to be available? This will be my first Trek convention, and to be honest... I'm not really a Trekkie. I'm more interested it meeting up with Fleeties and hanging out with Stonewallers!

In addition to the rather expensive Captians Chair Weekend packages that are still avaiable, Creation has now posted Preferred Weekend packages that give you better seating than general admission plus free access to the Saturday Night Gala Celebration. The price for the preferred weekend package is $329. Cheaper packages will become available the closer we get to August.

Oh yeah, also definitely felt like "The Idiot's Lantern" too, to the point where I was half-expecting The Wire to be 'the client'.



ALSO, did everyone hear the news about who is confirmed to be returning for the 50th anniversary special? It's not a big surprise, but it's nice to know it will be happening!

I liked it. Not fantastic, but not bad. It served its purpose for establishing Clara as a new companion and her dynamic with the Doctor, and gave a little more info about the current story arc.

My only gripe is that Moffat's tropes are starting to become glaringly obvious and a bit tired. It didn't help that large parts of it felt like a rehash of 'Blink'. As much as I've liked his run on the show, I will be glad to see someone else take over. I think he's starting to run out of ideas.

That said, the whole sequence with the plane was fucking AWESOME.

So what did everyone think of The Bells of St. John? The whole wifi plot was pretty cool I thought. Clara seems to be able to hold her own against The Doctor. With a show like Dr. Who the Devil is very much in the details when it comes to plot arcs and I was wondering if anyone else noticed this:

I just stumbled upon the chat stuff myself. I was equally frustrated with the chat system, but once I found that, it is much better. Glad I could help :)

Listening is what i cant do with vent right now, for some reason. Everything else comes through fine, just not vent for some reason.

By the way those tips for chat were awesome.

i ran a short forward facing only torp test run using my assault cruiser, loaded her up with the quick reloading transphasic torpedo's and sat the max number of duty officers that could reduce reload time, and she was firing those things off rather consistently. once something got close though her turn rate made it hard to keep a good firing beat on anyone. But the dmg was pretty good up front least while i stayed away from the other ship. It would still be a just for fun idea.
