Re: Project Runway Season 12!!!!!!!!!

August 12 2013
Just caught up with all the episodes today. Haven't watched a full season of PR since Gretchen *gag* and Ivy *wretch* (I may still have a crush on Michael Costello *cuddles*), but have found this group quite pleasant, despite the general bitchery.

I haven't seen the Road to the Runway ep, but these are my first impressions:

Sandro - I'm glad it wasn't just me attracted to Sandro. He left me as confused as he was. I must like my men unstable. Although vagines can stay boxed.
Helen - I like her, though she's a pretty terrible designer. Jesus, and that tattoo! Auf with her head!
Justin - His clothes are iffy, but I find him unbelievably cute. I would like to see more ;)
Karen - Ginger Edition Drew Barrymore. No impression whatsoever. Like Regular Edition Drew Barrymore.
Kate - She was THE bitch in a previous season? HOW? She seems SO nice and SO talented! PLEASE don't don't tell me she's just overcompensating, because she seems SO nice and SO talented! :P
Alexandria - Help me out here. She reminds me of someone and I can't figure out who!
Dom - No fuss, no muss. Want her to win. I picked her for the last win. That print alignment was amazing, but yeah, the bib was odd.
Brandon - So earnest. I think that passion translates to his designs. I thought the bow tie top was going to look awful, but against the models skin it looked pretty good.
Jeremy/Ken/Kahindo - I wish I were Nina. They bore me.
Alexander/Sue/Angela/Miranda/Timothy - They design clown clothes.

Agree with all you guys that the budget addition is great, and more Tim Gunn is always a good thing.
Oh, how cute was it when Sandro called him "Top Gunn"?

Just realised something. Where's Michael Kors?

There are some perfectionists out there that unfortunately forget to communicate with people. Don't feel bad though, you did MUCH better than me, I usually just drive my ship into the Borg and then type ":)" into the chat.

Heya, Gareth! We've spoken already, but just wanted to again apologize for the unpleasant experience.

When I was first starting out STF's I had a horrible experience with a former member and it pretty much ruined my drive to participate in any fleet STF's. This was until I discovered that not everyone was like that player of whom I had that unfortunate encounter with. As mentioned already, don't let this ruin your STF journey. They can be so much fun when in the right group! Our PvE Department does an excellent job with tutorial runs and would most likely be happy to take you along on some missions :)

Let me know if you need anything,

~Andrew

As a fellow PvE fleet captain, I must add my voice to Colby and Voleron's replies. I am disheartened you had a bad experience. I want you to know my door is open to you any time I'm online and am more than happy to run STFs (or anything else) with you and teach you all you want to learn. Just hail me and I'll be glad to team up with you. :)

Hey GXV3,

I'm disappointed to hear that you had an unpleasant encounter in your STF. By and large, we're all a very friendly and welcoming bunch and are more than happy to teach newcomers the ropes and to dispense advice when it comes to tactics, etcetera.

As mykryptonite has mentioned, there are plenty of us who are willing to walk you through some of the strategies in a stress free, no-pressure environment, including those fine members of our PvE department, who'd be more than happy to show you the ropes!

We certainly strive to be welcoming of everyone here, regardless of skill level; a sentiment that I'm sure that all of the responses in this thread will strongly support. I look forward to running into you in-game in the near future, and maybe we'll get a chance to run a few of those STFs together :)

Cheers!
Dave.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I've found most fleet members are helpful. Hopefully the person was just having a bad day. I'll team up with ya anytime! =)

Im not one to moan or be on a downer.

but I was playing an STF tonight with fellow fleeties.
I was asked to do something.. which I normally do.. Defend Kang on CSE.

I was pretty much self taught in STFs, and played with public and friends, doing exactly the same thing.. repairing kang.. fighting off the incoming.. repairing etc etc.

Tonight I was told I was just sitting there, I wasnt.. I did ask that person after.. what I was doing wrong.. and hinted for advice on how to do it their way.. to which I was kinda ignored.

Like I said Im not moaning, but I ask veteran Fleet players.. to maybe show some patience.. or maybe give some advice if they see a player can do it differently.. Im slowly getting used to the fleet and there are some cracking mates in here.
But to new comers.. it may put them off.
Just be a bit nicer, be a family.. and maybe find it in your hearts to share some of your wisdom for the next time.. we all have to start somewhere :)

Of course the LGBT community is attempting to use the Olympic Games to bring further attention to what's going on in Russia. I'll also agree with you that the tactics being used by some are disgraceful, but then I've found that most activists believe the ends justify the means. You have my sympathy for taking the brunt of that. Also, you raise a good point about how much it would cost to move the games, and I wouldn't like to see a country basically voluntold they're holding the games and then devolve into a situation similar to Brazil with the World Cup.

Early August is birthday extravaganza time for me - three family birthdays within the first week and half - so falling a bit behind on the shows I follow. Although I finally got around to catching up on Runway this evening!
