A few notes I typed up while watching:
- "Innards of a goose, that produce foie gras." o.O WTF Brandon!
- Jeremy butt crack, if you're into that kind of thing.
- I want, no NEED, to slap Ken in a non sexual manner.
- In season 2 I could have sworn Santino left the workroom several times with his model undressed. I remember him gluing and stapling the clothes on a few times.
- Does everyone else fast forward through Heidi shilling the prizes before the runway?

TEAMS:
Brandon/Miranda/Ginger Vulcan
Winners in my eyes. Both Brandon and GV made great sculptural pieces. Amazing textile results too, but Miranda keeps dragging out that same effing dress.

Justin/Dom/Helen
This team was the only one that looked like a collection to me. Textiles were a bit drab, borderline Halloween/pilgrim aesthetic. Poor Justin's was terrible. Dom's was okay apart from the colour/print. Was very worried Justin was going to be auff'd when he got to call home in the middle of the episode.

Sue/Ken/Alexandria
Hideous and noisy, literally. Lets all passive-aggressively throw each other under the bus. Nina was on fire judging this group. Did she say "half ass--ed"? Holy crap Ken. His tombstone shall read: "I'm speaking so you need to be quiet", and thanks for pointing out "there's duct tape". Never would have guessed. lol!

Jeremy/Karen/Kate
Really unflattering designs IMHO. I really hate flaps that kind of stick out at the waist/hips. Completely destroys the line and makes most women look like they're wearing a sack.

Looking forward to next weeks "Glam-ping Trip"!

I always skip through the prizes and the announcing of the judges. Except for the special judge. :-) Ginger Vulcan!!! LOL

Overall, I liked the episode, although I think they're going a little overboard with the number of Unconventional Materials Challenges. Hoping they give those a rest for a while. Also getting a little tired of the product placements that end up having nothing to do with the actual episode's challenge. As least find a creative (and meaningful!) way to tie them in to the competition.

Since they divided the three obvious front-runners (thus far at least) into separate teams, I'm just going to designate them as team captains. :P

Team Kate: I disagree with ion.sol. I actually liked their collection. I enjoyed that they were able to have three distinct outfits and that still worked together as a "mini-collection." It's also the first time that Karen has sent something down the runway that I actually liked! However, I agree with Vidan's comments about Jeremy's dress. I'm surprised that it was the winner.

Team Bradon: Thought it was very close as an overall collection to Team Kate's, and I think the judges could have went either way. Bradon's individual outfit was the best out of everyone's, imo. I think that Bradon's awesomeness was cancelled out somewhat by Miranda's mediocrity, and that probably hurt their overall collection score enough to cost them the top spot.

Team Dom: Their overall collection was just blah. Dom had the strongest of the three (surprise, surprise), but even then it didn't hold a candle to anything produced by the top two teams. Justin's didn't look as bad on the runway as it did when he was making it. Helen's dress was horrendous, and I can't see her lasting much longer in the competition.

Team Awful: Thank goodness Sue is gone! I mean, I only have very, very basic skills as far as using a sewing machine goes, and yet I feel that I could sew circles around that woman. :dry:
In other news, Ken's obnoxiousness reached Sandro levels. And Alexandria, for all her smack-talking about the other contestants in her confessionals, folded like a cheap suit when actually faced with a confrontational situation. I did not care for anyone on this team.

Eh, it's okay. Not great.
Kind of like how "Born This Way" was a bit of a generic anthemic single. Been listening to that album today. Government Hooker, Judas, Bloody Mary, Black Jesus (Amen Fashion), Bad Kids, Heavy Metal Lover, Electric Chapel are all great for very different reasons. Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) is my favourite. The reverb/delay that song goes out on is great.

I hope Art Pop goes wacky/all over the place too. I loved the leak/demo that surfaced last week.

On a related tangent, I had a dream featuring Lady Gaga last night. I was at a friends gallery and Gaga had whipped up some "comparative timeline of humanity" wall display. Three walls depicted human history, and a single door on the fourth wall depicted human history without the atrocities. "We will never progress if we keep wasting our time!", she proclaimed loudly. Then a water pipe, that somehow powered the exhibit, started leaking. She blocked the leak with her stiletto, smiled wryly and whispered to me "see how easy it is". The choice was between staying with her or going to the football. I chose the football.

I should write fan fiction :silly:

The Ruane

I opened my eyes it was dark. I could vaguely make out dim lighting across the room and a blurry figure sitting at a desk. I tried to sit up but realized I was restrained. The room shook fiercely. The figure behind the desk stood to walk over to me, again, the room shook violently. As my eyes began to clear I realized I was in sick bay and on a bio bed. I had no idea how long I was here or what the stardate was.

The lights flickered a few times then all seemed to be normal. The ships Doctor tapped the bio bed panel and the restraints were released. It suddenly dawned on me that I could not hear. The lights came up and the flashing red panels ceased.

"Sick bay to Bridge, Captain, Aden is awake but I don't think he can hear at the present time. I have been talking to him but received no response." The doctor spoke to the comm.

"I will be down presently. We are clear for the moment but I expect we'll see some action in a short while. See if you can figure out why he can't hear. Fitzroy out." Is what I would have heard if I could.

The doctor handed me a padd and picked up another nearby and began typing out text. He motioned for me to look at the padd when he was done. He understood that I could not hear and that he was going to take a look as he thinks he may have missed something. With that he picked up a medical tricorder and scanned my head in all directions. How he'd missed that I ever would find out. Nor did I care. He stuck a tiny instrument into both of my ears and repaired the damage he'd found. About this time Captain Fitzroy entered sick bay.

The doctor finished up and I could hear again. Rufus approached and it all came back to me. I realized the Belfast was lost and that I was on Captain Fitzroy's ship. I did-liked this ship very much. Oh it was a powerful tool for the federation but I preferred a different look to a starship. I didn't like the bony fingers that attached the nacelles to the saucer, but I digress...

I felt much better now and asked the doctor if I was fit for duty to which he waved his hand towards the door in -go away, you're bothering- fashion. Secretly I think he was annoyed at having missed a simple hearing issue. I left the sickbay with Rufus in silence. Once in the corridor I stopped him.

"My crew?" I asked quietly.

"7 souls lost, the rest are here on the Ruane, Captain." He responded.

I was relieved. He then went on to tell me about the final scans of the remains of the Belfast. Apparently someone had sabotaged the ship. To what extent was unknown. The ships computer core was being downloaded into the Ruane's main computer in order for analysis. I asked of the most recent attacks and Rufus waved his hand in the air and continued down the corridor. I walked over to the wall and tapped a panel looking for where I was assigned quarters and headed in the direction of the green flashing lights along the wall. I touched the panel of my quarters and entered. Numerous padd's were on the desk. I sat down and picked up the first padd, it was the report of the crew: recovered and lost. I scanned the names of the lost and began to compose the letters for the next of kin to send to Starfleet for approval. I stood and walked over the to window as I was dictating to the computer. As I stared out into space my mind began to wander. I thought of Rufus. I also thought of my family on Earth. I needed a break and apparently a new ship.

"Aden to the Bridge" I stated to the computer after pausing the recording.

"Yes Captain", responded the officer at the comm.

"What is our current destination?" I queried.

"Earth Space Dock." responded the comm officer.

I have a feeling twitter will just in certain regions ban certain hashtags like most other internet companies have to do in the middle east. Murder death hate speech is apparently not free speech in France.

I hope they lose their lawsuit, because if they win what's to stop a government in a region that really DOES kill gays from suing to get the membership information of everyone using a hashtag connected with our community?

Of course hopefully this is just a joke since the groups name is...well...

I found this article in the Advocate that I thought was just wow. I understand that people have the right to speak their mind, but come on this is promoting hate on a global scale. I'm not a Twitter user, but I am sure that there is codes of conduct that Twitter goes by about what can be posted.

A French pro-LGBT group is planning a lawsuit after the hashtag “gays must die” became the most popular topic to trend on the social media site over the weekend.

Over the weekend, the hashtag “gays must die” become the most popular topic to trend on Twitter in France, prompting an LGBT rights organization to announce it plans to sue the social media website, reports UPI.

Because the hashtag allegedly violates hate speech laws in the country, the pro-LGBT group known as the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, or IDAHO, says its members will sue Twitter to release information on users of the hashtag to authorities to be investigated.

"We support free expression, and we understand that there are some people who simply don't like gay people, but this is a call for the extermination of the gay community," IDAHO member Alexander Marcel told UPI. "Twitter hasn't deleted a single homophobic tweet nor removed a single homophobic hashtag from its list of most popular trending terms."

In addition to #gaysmustdie, #TeamHomophobes and #LetsBurnGayPeople were also popular hashtags that gained traction in France over the weekend.
