I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they're probably upset because they themselves have invested tons of hours leveling reputation on alts. With this, you can make leveling reputation on alts much less painful. They're upset that PWE is making things easier where they had to suffer through grinding. It's a common theme in games where companies make certain mechanics easier and a group that endured under the old system aren't happy about the change. I for one say "bring it on!"

Yeah. I remember feeling incensed when the Reman Space Set became available for purchase through the Rom Rep system when I had played The Vault shuttle mission 500 times to do the full upgrade to MkXII. Pissed me off, man...

Good news Fleetie Darlings! Fleet versions of the Atrox,Ar'Kif, Veteran ships, Ground Kits and Advanced Tac console and more with the new Spire Fleet Holding!

The Spire can be compared to the Embassy and Dilithium Mine for the amount of effort and resources required to achieve Tier 3. Like the Embassy and the Dilithium Mine, the Spire has one main track and two sub-tracks.

Spire (Main Track)

Progressing through the Spire holding’s main track will reward the fleet with access to new starships, fleet perks specific to the Solanae Dyson Sphere’s content and standard fleet holding conveniences such as mail, bank and exchange access, as well as a ship selector contact. This track gains experience via completion of upgrading your Research and Operation sub-tracks. The reward highlights for the Spire are:

Three tiers of Atmospheric Flight Training to help reduce the Atmospheric Friction found in the Dyson Sphere’s Space Adventure Zone. (Purchased through vendor for small amount of Fleet Credits)
Two tiers of Command Credit Discounts. Command Credits are used to call reinforcements in the Ground Battle Zone. (Automatic Fleet-wide Upgrade)
Spire Transwarp Transporter (Construction Project)
A Reinforcement Bonus that allows players belonging to a fleet to more quickly secure objectives in the Dyson Sphere’s Space Adventure Zone. (Automatic Fleet-wide Upgrade)
New Ships (Purchasable with Fleet Modules, Fleet Credits and Starbase Military Fleet Ship Provisioning)
[REDACTED]
Fleet Peghqu’ Heavy Destroyer* (KDF Only)
Fleet Chimera Heavy Destroyer* (Starfleet Only)
Fleet Daeinos Heavy Destroyer* (Romulan Republic Only)
Fleet Kar’fi Battle Carrier (KDF Only)
Fleet Caitian Atrox Carrier (Starfleet Only)
Fleet Ar’Kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit (Romulan Republic Only)

*Purchase of these starships requires 1,000-day veteran status

Research (Sub-Track)

Upgrading the Research track will grant the fleet access to new Warp Cores, Hangar Pets and Tactical Consoles. The rewards found in this sub-track are:

3 tiers of the [REDACTED]’s Hangar Pet (Can be equipped on any starship with a Hangar Bay)
Advanced and Elite Plasma-Integrated Warp Cores (Starfleet and KDF Only)
Advanced and Elite Thoron-Infused Singularity Cores (Romulan Warbirds Only)
Mk XII Fleet Tactical Consoles

Operations (Sub-Track)

Upgrading the Operations track will grant the fleet access to new Fleet Ground Kit options, Voth Duty Officers and addition Duty Officer Active Roster Slots.

Six Mk XI Fleet Ground Kit variants (2 for each profession)
Six Mk XII Fleet Ground Kit variants (2 for each profession)
Voth Scientist Duty Officers
+1 Ground Active Roster Slot

I have never understood that philosophy, thats like saying that since i had to repeat a mission 10 times due to a bug, they should never fix the bug so others have to suffer like i did. Dont put power steering in cars, non augmented steering was good enough for my grandfather, its good enough for me. Pure Selfishness at its most brazen.

Are they upset at that or the replacement of commodities with straight ec? I can not see why anyone would be upset at other alts getting double fast rep movement.

Reputation Sponsorship:
This feature allows players that have maxed out a reputation on one character to have double reputation experience for all of their alts in that same rep.
Characters that have reached Tier 5 in any Reputation will see a new project available in that Reputation: "Begin Sponsorship Procedures for Upcoming Officer"
This project costs 100 Marks from the applicable Reputation, and completes in ~5 seconds.
Completing this Project will reward that T5 Character with a Sponsorship Token applicable to that Reputation.
This Token is Bind-to-Account-on-Pickup, and is designed to be traded to other characters on your account via your Account Shared Bank.
This project can be repeated as many times as necessary.
All characters will see a new Tier 1 Project in each reputation: "Claim Sponsorship"
This project may not be immediately visible until a character interacts with the Reputation System in some way.
Even something as simple as slotting any project then canceling it will trigger the projects to appear.
Even though this is a T1 Project, it can be run by any character of any rank other than Tier 5.
This project requires just one Sponsorship Token (no other inputs) and completes in ~5 seconds.
Completing this Project will reward that character with Double Reputation XP in that specific Reputation, for the remainder of that character's lifetime.
This means that the Projects that previously rewarded 2000xp and 800xp will now give 4000xp and 1600xp.
For testing purposes only on Tribble, projects will now complete in 30 seconds instead of their stated time.

Thoughts? I know this is already causing a minor uproar on tribble forums, but can it be a good thing? does it have to be a bad thing? Thoughts, or comments (Me I am kinda excited to be able to start a new toon and not have to worry as much about rep building just to get the gear.)

Z O M B I E · C R A W L · D E T A I L S !

As our Halloween event draws near, we'll be providing additional details of each event in our Halloween event day line-up! Today's update deals with the Zombie Crawl!

This event, conceptualized by the diabolical mind of your deranged Fleet Captain: Whiteonmyoji, will have you turn your Federation, Romulan, Klingon or alien toon into the most frightening Zombie possible! You will mindlessly meet with your fellow fleet-zombies to do a crawl through some of the most densely populated faction-neutral locations, consuming all other players in a zombified frenzy, encouraging your victims to join us as we traverse the Star Trek online universe like a plague!

The fleet will be gathering on the second, social level of the Stonewall (main) Fleet dilithium mine (map invites will be available upon request), prior to the commencement of the event. A tailor is available there, for anyone who needs to make last minute touch-ups to their character's zombified appearance before commencing the crawl! Be sure to put your character into the "creature" stance, for optimal effect!

(See event times, which are listed on the first post in this thread, for details on when we'll be mustering and starting this event, on Saturday, October 26th).

From the gathering location at the fleet's dilithium mine, we'll be swarming Drozana station, followed by the New Romulus and Nimbus adventure zones, before continuing the crawl through the promenade of Deep Space Nine, before arriving at Quark's bar, where a short after-party will be held and prizes will be awarded!

If you choose not bring a level 50 toon to this event, you will be unable to join the fleet for the New Romulus portion of the crawl, due to the zone's level requirements!

P R I Z E S

The fleet member with the BEST ZOMBIFIED character and the fleet member who plays the role of MOST CONVINCING zombie by means of chat, emotes and overall enthusiasm, will win a most terrifying 1,000 ZEN!, and UNIQUE Holo-Leeta duty officer! Participation prizes will also be awarded.
