Things were not so bad tonight but my god the zone chat. It makes me sad. I did enjoy my Nuian a bit more than my Harani.

No, sorry, I was in a "why are you on the internet" mood yesterday. The upgrade projects had been at 6000+above when on Tribble.

Stultified by your mind-numbingly mundane job?

Even the future isn't enough to get you out of your rut.

Just ask Chief Miles O'Brien:

Yeah, when I checked earlier on Holodeck, the upgrade projects gave the same XP/sec as any other non-research project.

uh. 75, 150, 225, and 225 XP respectively, when I just looked on holodeck - that's with the R&D weekend buff. The Tribble numbers were omgwtfbbq borked, apparently.

One good thing about the upgrades, is that they give more r&d exp than most ways, so you can farm them for the exchange.

To add to the warning, the green ones at lv5 are even worse than the blues, at least at high level projects.

Also, the upgrades are Exchange-able, so you aren't bound to crafting (and there's no dil cost in crafting them, so once demand slows a bit, the price should level off).

Short version: the blue 'improved' upgrades that you can craft at an R&D level of 10 are a total scam. I compared a blue and a purple upgrade on my MACO shield:

[attachment=2533]upgrade-blue.jpg[/attachment]

Blue: costs 950 dilithium, yields 5000 (4%) tech.
Mark upgrade costs 20900 dil (22 items)

[attachment=2534]upgrade-purple.jpg[/attachment]

Purple: costs 1075 dil, yields 12800 (12%) tech.
Mark upgrade costs 9675 dil (9 items)

For a hot minute, I was really happy that the new equipment upgrade system would give us something not completely useless to do during the 3-month wait to get an R&D school to level 15. Turns out that even at level 10, you're more than doubling your dil costs. Back to those oh-so-exciting research projects, then.

*performs necromancy on this thread*

I just purchased Wildstar [EU] finally and got given a trial code. This code will only work for EU accounts and will grant you 7 days access from the moment you apply the code.

You'll need to go to http://wildstar-online.com login/create an account and apply the following code:

Have fun!

Also if anyone is playing on the EU servers hit me up! :)

  • Strong focus on PvP (I'm not an MMO PvP fan) with conflict areas, encouraged scamming (within game mechanics), and an overall "pirate" environment.
  • The above environment seems to have attracted players that love to grief or otherwise abuse other players. For example, people are constantly destroying other people's publicly planted crops before they mature (so no resources are given), just to keep someone else from getting the resources. These people are even using their labor points to do this.

This pretty much kills any interest I had in it.

That's actually a very good assessment of the game itself. I will add that there is the possibility of paying for a patron status (their subscription) through accumulating enough in game gold and purchasing 'apex.' So if you play and trade enough, it's possible to not have to pay for anything in the game. That being said, if you f2p, it does take some time to get started unless you join a good guild or have some friends in the game who can help you out. But, I do know a few people who have already gotten enough apex to cover a month or two of patron status.
