What tickets to buy/What to do?

As a self proclaimed triple convention virgin, I haven't a clue as to which tickets to buy, or if the $520 ticket is even worth it. Will we be doing a lot of things together as a fleet? What has been done in the past, what should I expect? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

LOVED IT!

OH this is just awesome!!

Hey Izzy.

I've been to the convention twice before (2007 & 2010), though both of those times were before I started playing STO.

Both times I bought the "General admission" tickets, which get you into all the convention rooms for all the days of the convention, with non-reserved seats in the main auditorium, and don't include any events. I went for the cheapest option, but had an amazing time anyway! (This band of tickets has not yet been released for 2012, but will be soon).

This time, Ben and I will be splashing out a little more and buying the "Preferred weekend" tickets, which include reserved seats in the main auditorium and admission to the Avery Brooks jazz performance on Saturday evening.

Basically, the more expensive the tickets, the closer to the stage your reserved seats will be. The more expensive options also include exclusive evening parties and some complimentary autograph tickets.

Just go with whatever your budget will allow. You can buy the cheapest tickets available and still have an incredible time. I'd like to think we can do lots together as a fleet, so whatever tickets you've got we'll still have a blast :-D

Thanks for the input, I'm so glad I found out there were going to be more ticketing options! Cant wait to see everyone!

While the preferred seated is cook it can still be not that close to the actual stage especially in this conventon's autidoriuim. The fleet tends to sit together behind the last row of the preferred seating area. Just bring some binoculars or some opera glasses and you'll be fine. This August will be my third year and I still cant justify that extra expense of being a few rows ahead of everone else. Granted I'm not big on autograph pictures like some of my fellow fleeties.
